Emile Bouwer’s bail hearing is finalised

Magistrate Sibisi expressed concern about a witness being interfered with.

Emile Bouwer’s bail application was finalised at the Newcastle Magistrate’s C-Court on Tuesday.

The father of three is accused of beating his girlfriend of 16-years, Lientjie Kruger, to death.

Handing down her judgement, presiding officer, Magitsrate Sibisi, took several factors into account including allegations that witnesses were being interfered with and the investigating officer’s testimony that Emile had attempted to conceal evidence.

Read this week’s edition of the Newcastle Advertiser for details on the outcome of the bail application.
