Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Sihle Mazibuko said that the man began his reign of terror in 2003.

“He was terrorising children by kidnapping and raping them. The youngest of his victims was nine years old and the oldest 17. He used a firearm to frighten his victims,” said the warrant officer.

He further explained that the child predator would lure his victims to a donga, where he would rape them.
According to provincial police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala, one of the children was also stabbed during the ordeal.

“He targeted victims from the Esigodlweni, KwaMatshesi and Mphandweni areas. DNA results positively linked the accused to five cases after vigorous investigation by Estcourt Family Violence, Child Protection & Sexual Offences Unit detectives,” said Captain Gwala.

The court further deemed the accused unfit to possess a firearm and unfit to work with children. His name is to be included in the National Register of Sexual Offenders and National Child Protection Register.
