uThukela assures Acaciavale residents that they will have water

The water supply to Acaciavale was switched off at 8.30pm and switched back on at 4am

In a media statement sent out by uThukela to update residents on the water supply to Acaciavale, the district municipality says that there is now sufficient water for the Acaciavale area.

According to uThukela spokesperson Jabulani Mkhonza, “We had low water levels at the Abattoir Reservoir yesterday (May 1) and Acaciavale had low water pressure from midday. The water demand had slightly increased due to the commencement of the level 4 Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.”

Mkhonza carried on to say that the supply to Acaciavale was switched off at 8.30pm last night and was switched back on at 4am.

“Thus, there should be sufficient water supply this morning,” concluded Mkhonza.
