Keeping clean to curb Covid-19

This is an attempt by the local municipality to prevent the spread of the coronavirus

The programme to sanitize public spaces within Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality is carried out by the Waste Management Unit, in partnership with the Fire & Rescue Services Unit.

On April 21 and 22, Ikhwezi Hostel and the taxi rank in Alexandra Street were sprayed using detergents.

This is an attempt by the local municipality to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Densely-populated areas like Ikhwezi Hostel are part of the sanitizing programme.

“Over and above this fumigation process, other municipal teams continued with a clean-up campaign in Alexandra, Connor and Alfred streets. This is part and parcel of the continuous campaign by the Waste Management Unit to keep uMtshezi clean at all times and fight the spread of diseases,” said Municipal Manager Patrick Mkhize.
