1 dead, multiple serious injuries in R103 crash near Colenso
The road was completely closed due to the seriousness of the crash
A horror crash on the R103 Colenso road today (May 23) sadly claimed the life of one person.
The crash, involving a Land Rover Discovery and a truck, took place just outside Colenso.
Aside from the one fatality, numerous serious injuries were also reported in the collision. Many of the injured were trapped in the wreckage after the crash.
The jaws-of-life had to be used by paramedics and Ladysmith Fire Department firefighters to free those who were trapped.

The roadway was completely closed due to the seriousness of the crash.
Police, RTI and towing services responded.
A large number of people gathered at the scene to see what was going on.
