Early-morning collision in Hoog street

The driver, in his 60s, sustained moderate injuries and the woman, in her late 30s, sustained minor injuries

A car and a truck collided in Hoog Street on Monday morning after the driver of the car allegedly lost control of the vehicle. The truck was stationary at the time and goods were being offloaded from it. A female passenger in the car tried in vain to prevent the collision by attempting to steer the vehicle away from the truck. The driver, in his 60s, sustained moderate injuries and the woman, in her late 30s, sustained minor injuries. Both were stabilised at the scene and then taken to hospital. No one else was harmed in the collision.
