Roaming cattle and goats endanger motorists on the bypass
Numerous complaints have been laid with the relevant authorities, but nothing has been done as yet

Ladysmith resident Mr Andries van Eck regularly takes his dogs for a walk on the bypass and every time, he sees cattle and goats roaming free in the area.
“I always have to chase the livestock off the roadway. At times, motor vehicles can’t even pass due to the roadblock of animals,” complains Mr van Eck.
He has laid numerous complaints with the relevant authorities but says his plea for help has fallen on deaf ears, as nothing has yet been done about the problem.

Mr van Eck is worried because people speed along the bypass and a motorist could easily crash into one of these animals, with devastating consequences.
He appeals to the authorities to get the owner of the livestock to keep his animals in their pens.
