Level 3 lockdown: Long queues outside liquor stores in Ladysmith KZN
Only 9 people are allowed in at a time

South Africa officially enters level 3 of the lockdown today (June 1) and booze is once again freely available.
Long queues of people were seen waiting patiently for liquor stores to open at 9am, with the queues forming early this morning.
“Before a person can be allowed inside a liquor store, his / her temperature is checked. If it is above 37 degrees Celsius, that person is not allowed inside. People are also being sanitized as per safety precautions.
“We only allow nine people at one time into the shop. If a person is not wearing his or her face mask, then we do not allow them inside the liquor shop,” said Sakkie from CAPI Security, who was monitoring the situation at the Pick ‘n Pay Liquor Store.
Bottle stores will open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday.
