Madadeni SAPS have confirmed the number of people who died in the tragic road accident yesterday afternoon, has risen to five.

Four people died at the scene, on the Madadeni Road, leading to Osizweni, and the fifth person died in hospital.

“I can confirm that four of the five were male, and the one was female. We are still trying to track the families of all the deceased. A case of culpable homicide and reckless driving, is being investigated,” stated Captain Mandlenkosi Nkosi, Madadeni SAPS Communications Officer.

Names of the deceased could not be released until such time as next of kin have been informed.
