Al-Imdaad Foundation spreads warmth during harsh winter months

The Al-Imdaad Foundation's annual Operation Winter Warmth blanket drive is reaching out to these needy families to help spread warmth this winter

This year, the winter has come upon us when many in our community are worse off than they have been in a very long time.

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak and associated lockdown measures, large numbers have lost jobs and sources of livelihood, leaving them fighting to put food on the table.

In this situation, many do not have the means to buy that extra blanket or a warm hat to keep their children’s ears warm.

The Al-Imdaad Foundation’s annual Operation Winter Warmth blanket drive is reaching out to these needy families to help spread warmth this winter.

On June 15, the foundation partnered with Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality and Operation Sukuma Sakhe to deliver blankets and warm hats to needy beneficiaries in the Loskop area.

Elderly residents of Loskop receive Operation Winter Warmth blankets from the Al-Imdaad Foundation, in partnership with Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality.

The acting manager in the Office of the Inkosi Langalibalele Mayor, Freeman Mpembe, attended the programme. He thanked the Al-Imdaad Foundation team and asked the local community to keep the team in their prayers.

The distributions are part of ongoing Operation Winter Warmth activities that see blankets and warm hats delivered by Al-Imdaad Foundation teams across South Africa.
