Al-Imdaad Foundation brings warmth to Mooi River

In addition to the blankets, the teams also provided the beneficiary families with five-litre bottled water and hygiene kits

If you think about winters in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, the town of Mooi River always comes to mind as one of the coldest locations.

That’s why teams from the Al-Imdaad Foundation reached out to rural communities around Mooi River on June 18 with distributions of warm blankets.

This was part of the Al-Imdaad Foundation’s ongoing Operation Winter Warmth campaign which sees blankets and other items delivered to needy communities across the country.

For the Mooi River distributions, the Al-Imdaad Foundation partnered with Mpofana Local Municipality and Operation Sukuma Sakhe.

Mpofana Municipality special programmes co-ordinator Buhle Mchunu identified beneficiaries in various small rural settlements in Middelrus, Zwelisha, Sefele and Highover, to name just a few. The team split into four groups to reach all of them.

In addition to the blankets, the teams also provided the beneficiary families with five-litre bottled water and hygiene kits. For more information about Operation Winter Warmth or to sponsor a blanket at R90, visit www.alimdaad.com or you can call 086-178-6243.
