Covid-19 News: 97 confirmed deaths in uThukela District
Wear a mask to prevent the spread of the virus

Today (August 21), uThukela District has confirmed 97 deaths resulting from the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
This means that each and every day, the numbers are rising. On Wednesday (August 19), uThukela District had 93 confirmed deaths due to Covid-19.

People are urged to follow all the preventative tips in order to hinder the spread of the pandemic:
*Wash your hands regularly with soap or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
*Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
* Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
*Cover your cough or sneeze with a flexed elbow or a tissue, then throw the tissue in the bin.
KwaZulu-Natal has 2959 unallocated confirmed cases of patients infected with the virus, and the province contributes 21% of new cases nationally.
- The public is advised to call the coronavirus hotline on 0800029999 with any suspected cases of corona, or to report or obtain information relevant to the pandemic.
