Ladysmith: Roadblocks for Women’s Month all around town

Vehicles were stopped and checked for valid licences and whether they were roadworthy or not

LADYSMITH KZN: Women from the SAPS, RTI, Correctional Services, Public Safety and the Department of Health were part of numerous ‘roadblocks with a difference’ in areas surrounding Ladysmith on Friday, August 28.

This was a Women’s Month initiative.

One of the many roadblocks was on the N11 near the Driefontein turn-off. Numerous vehicles were stopped and checked for valid licences and roadworthiness.

Three vehicles believed to be stolen were found.

A team from the Department of Health handed out pamphlets to create awareness surrounding Covid-19. They also checked people’s temperatures.

The roadblocks were a roaring success and one motorist commented that it was good to see all the female officers working together and keeping everyone safe.
