ESTCOURT: Elderly female and child hurt after home structure collapses

Paramedics were called to the scene and faced a daunting task to get to the home after heavy flooding in the Mimosadale area.

“Paramedics had to be taken to scene by 4×4’s. When emergency services arrived they found that two occupants (an elderly female and child) had been in the home when it collapsed. Paramedics quickly assessed and treated the patients who had sustained serious injuries, and transported the patients to hospital for further care,” commented Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service spokesperson Craig Botha.
