NEWCASTLE KZN: ‘Bird lady’ prepares rescue birds for release
Four little bee-eaters are under the care of Sylva Francis, and will be released into nature in March.
Sylva Francis, affectionately known as Newcastle’s bird lady, is currently rehabilitating four little bee-eaters.
The group of tiny birds were brought in to a local veterinarian last month and were determined to have been stolen from their nest, and were subsequently confiscated.
Sylva hopes to release the bee-eaters in March, at a farm in Limpopo.
