NEWCASTLE KZN: Stage 2 load-shedding begins this evening

Geysers will be turned off from this evening until late on Friday night.

Power utility, Eskom has requested Newcastle Municipality to begin Stage 2 load-shedding for the next few days.

In a statement from the municipal Communications Unit, it is confirmed geysers will be turned off from 5pm today (March 10) until 11pm on Friday (March 12). This applies to areas where the municipality supplies electricity directly.

“The aim of this exercise (switching off geysers) is to minimise the impact and inconvenience for both businesses and residents.”

Any changes to the current stage of load-shedding will be communicated in due course.
