Newcastle KZN: Volksrust High School announces its Teacher of the Month; Mrs Senzi Dladla
“Teaching matrices will always be her first choice because she liked talking to people like equals, people with whom she can reason, where maturity is always present, and might I add that they also love her dearly.”

Mrs Senzi Dladla exclaimed with delight that her favourite part of being a teacher is the magic of having someone come into your class not knowing anything and leave having learned something.
Mariska le Roux, a Volksrust High School student, said this while interviewing the school’s ‘Teacher of the Month’, Mrs Senzi Dlaldla.
“That is absolutely magical for her and we can truly say that she enriches our minds on a daily basis as Volkies. She adores being a part of the Volkie family,” said le Roux.
Dladla has always envisioned herself working in a peaceful environment where diversity grew and where she could do her job with ease and poise.
“Teaching matrics will always be her first choice, because she likes talking to people as equals; people with whom she can reason, where maturity is always present. And might I add that they also love her dearly.”
The words of her favourite poem, ‘On His Blindness’ by John Milton, touched her spiritually and served as a beautiful reminder to her that even when things don’t go your way, you should always put your full trust in God, because He knows what He’s doing.
“There is a whole basket full of things that inspire her, such as music, nature, her love for her job, and knowing that she is never alone,” le Roux explained.
All of her trust is deeply rooted in God, and she says that she feels His presence every day.
She enjoys eating anything meaty while watching her favourite show, The Handmaid’s Tale, which she describes as ‘gruesome but beautiful’.
Her life is brightened by the song Jesu ‘Lidwala (Jesus Is The Rock).
The Flash, with Miss Rossouw as sidekick, is the superhero who captures her attention the most.
Kindness and simple things like people coming into her class, greeting her, and being a nice and pleasant human being can instantly paint a joyful smile on her face.
“Thank you for choosing to be a Volkie, Mrs Senzi Dladla. There is no one like you, because you are wonderfully made, and your passion for teaching is growing. Thank you for being such an inspiration, and may you never lose that spark that lights up in your eyes when you’re teaching,” Le Roux concluded.
