Another Saturday morning at parkrun
Although the weather was cooler, it did little to take away from the enthusiasm at the event. From the runners at the front of the field to the tail walkers at the back, participants enjoyed another Saturday morning at Vryheid parkrun.
Volunteers make it possible
The event also highlighted the important role played by the volunteers who give up their time each week.
Volunteers help at the start and finish, assist with timing and scanning, support participants around the course and make sure everyone gets home safely. Pacers help runners chase personal bests, while parkwalkers encourage those walking the route and tail walkers ensure that nobody is left behind.
Photographers and behind-the-scenes volunteers also help make each event possible.
The Vryheid parkrun team thanked all the volunteers for their continued commitment, as well as the participants who keep returning each week and make the event what it is.
