ESTCOURT KZN: Police seize pistols and ammunition in Loskop

"The suspect has been profiled and the firearms will be subject to ballistic testing"

During the two past weeks, police have been closing in on individuals that are in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

More firearms off the streets in Loskop

Friday (October 1) yielded the latest success.

A joint operation between the Uthukela Crime Intelligence Gathering Unit and Durban Public Order Policing Unit saw officers swoop on a home in the Engonyameni area of Amangwe (Loskop) during the early hours of the morning.
A 24-year-old man, who on the premises, was found with two pistols and several rounds of ammunition.

He was immediately arrested.

“He faces charges of being in possession of firearms and ammunition. He is due to appear in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court today (October 4). The suspect has been profiled and the firearms will be subject to ballistic testing,” commented police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.
