Well done to Sakkie Spannenberg and Barbara Dicks, who ran the challenging Golden Gate trail challenge last weekend. This challenge is run over three days in the beautiful Golden Gate area. The region is mountainous and the run is not for the faint-hearted. The weather conditions also made the event gruelling this year, being wet and quite windy some of the time. The trails are rocky and require all your attention as they snake through the valleys and then up on the escarpment, running along high drops.

But with all that said, it is a privilege to run in our beautiful Drakensberg, camping at the Glen Reenen campsite in the National Park and being entertained by all the running stories of the day.

Well done, Sakkie and Barbara!
