The uThukela District netball team is looking forward to taking part and performing well in the national games. The players are from all three local municipalities, namely Alfred Duma, Inkosi Langalibalele and Okhahlamba.

The team will be participating in the Spar National Championships to be held in Bellville, Cape Town, from December 5 to 11.

The uThukela Netball Federation’s Mr. Nkululeko Khumalo said they are very happy that they are going to Cape Town. However, lack of financial support is still a problem in this sport. “The transport is costing us about R3500 per person, excluding accommodation and food. We still urge sponsors to come through, because most of the players come from poor backgrounds and they can’t afford to pay for themselves,” said Khumalo.
