Multiple roads flooded in CBD as water levels rise
More roads surrounding the Klip River are now also filling up with water
Disaster Management teams and members of the Al-Imdaad Foundation are hard at work trying to evacuate people from flooded areas.
Al-Imdaad helps Disaster Management
Speaking to Mr Abed Karrim from the Al-Imdaad Foundation, he said their teams have been on the ground assisting Disaster Management personnel from Alfred Duma and uThukela District Municipality as water levels rise.
Family stuck at Plaza
A family got stuck in the Plaza in their vehicle, and Al-Imdaad Foundation teams assisted with boats and rubber dinghies to get the family out.
20 people evacuated
Mr Karrim added that, judging by what he has been told by Disaster Management, there are currently 20 people who have been evacuated from the lower parts of the CBD. They are being housed at the Indoor Sports Complex.

The Al-Imdaad Foundation will help with blankets, hot food and mattresses for the people who have been displaced from their homes.
Roads fill up with water
More roads surrounding the Klip River are now also filling up with water. Motorists are advised to stay away from the affected low-lying areas of the CBD.
There is water at the lower end of Murchison Street, but it’s not major flooding.
