A female passenger on the back of a motorcycle sadly lost her life in a crash today (February 25).

A man and a woman, on one bike, were riding with a group of friends on the N3 heading towards Van Reenen.

It is believed that the male driver lost control of the bike and crashed while going around a bend.

The woman on the bike was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver is in a critical condition in hospital.

The other bikers in the group were in a state of shock after the loss of their dear friend.

Van Reenen police responded to the scene.
