Family loses two houses in fire attack

The family lost all their furniture and other valuables

The Zikalala family of Umhlumayo has been left devastated after their houses were set alight by a group of people earlier this week. Two houses were burnt down during the attack.

No one was injured, but the family lost all their furniture and other valuables.

It is alleged that the houses were burned down because of tension among the residents.

Alfred Duma Local Municipality Mayor Zama Sibisi visited the family on Wednesday (April 13). The mayor called for peace and harmony in the area.

“We don’t like what is happening here; this must come to an end. We advise that those who are not seeing eye to eye must consult the traditional leadership or even come to us if need be, as our doors are always open,” said Mayor Sibisi.
