Wheelchair-bound flood victim needs help

The family's three-bedroom house was destroyed in the recent floods

Wheelchair-bound Nhlanhla Zondo (40), who lives in the Maye area (Ward 4) of Okhahlamba Local Municipality, is pleading for help from the community.

Zondo says the area is not wheelchair-friendly and to make matters so much worse, their house was destroyed in the recent floods.

He lives with his two younger siblings (a sister and a brother) and his sister’s child, who are all dependent on his grant money.

After their three-bedroom house was destroyed in the floods earlier this year, they are now left with a two-room house which is not in a good state at all.

“For this reason, we would appreciate help. It would be great to get a new house,” said a disheartened Zondo.
