Generous local musicians help raise over R30K for young Josua’s medical costs

In a heart-warming display of community solidarity, local musicians gathered on March 1 at Hutten Park Primary School to host a one-day music festival aimed at raising funds for seven-year-old Josua Louwrens.

Josua, who was recently diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, is currently undergoing treatment far from home.

The cost of his medical care is placing an enormous financial burden on his family, so the support from the community is all the more necessary.

The music festival brought the community together, with local musicians donating their time and talent to the cause. Performers included Rachelle, Yolande, Yolandi, André, Belinda, Mari-Louise, Heno Horn Band, Angus Burns, Zahn, and Smokkelhuiz.

The show helped create a memorable and uplifting atmosphere for all who attended.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of those present, the event raised an impressive R30,340 to assist Josua’s parents with his medical expenses.

“To each and everyone who attended and helped this weekend, from the bottom of our hearts, we say thank you,” said event organiser, Johan van Schalkwyk.
