Embracing the Spirit of Ubuntu
ELM team leader, Xolani Lamula, said the initiative was driven by a desire to show love and compassion to senior citizens.
“We are Elephant Literature Media, a company that focuses on reading and cultural engagement. Today, we brought donations for the elderly in our community to show them love and support. These are necessities to help them through the day, but more importantly, we bring care and appreciation. In South Africa, we believe in the spirit of Ubuntu — ‘I am because we are.’ It is not just a phrase, but a way of life that reminds us of our shared humanity. Our wellbeing is connected to the wellbeing of others. Today’s visit is a true reflection of that spirit. We hope these contributions bring comfort and remind the residents that they are valued and never forgotten,” he said.

Appreciation from SAVF Jubileum
Manager of SAVF Jubileum, Jeanne Stapelberg, expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing it as both meaningful and encouraging.
“This is a great privilege, and I would like to thank Xolani and his team for thinking of SAVF Jubileum and bringing us love and support. We hope this is the beginning of a strong and lasting relationship. Each of us will grow old one day and may need care and compassion. That is what SAVF Jubileum is here for — to serve the community. Every donation, big or small, helps us continue our work. We truly appreciate this generous gesture,” she said.
