Endumeni Endumeni Chamber of Commerce forms new committee to foster business cooperation

After being dormant for some years, the Endumeni Chamber of Business is bidding to galvanize small and bigger enterprises to collaborate for the greater good.

The Endumeni Chamber of Commerce held its annual committee meeting at Amabutho Lodge on Friday morning, January 31, marking the establishment of a new committee dedicated to driving business collaboration and supporting community development within the district. The meeting, chaired by Willie Steenberg, brought together local business leaders to discuss strategies for working together to address key issues such as crime and service delivery shortcomings in the Endumeni area.

The newly formed committee is committed to uniting business owners, both large and small, to create a more cooperative environment for improving local services and fostering a safer, more prosperous community. One of their key initiatives involves regular collaboration with the Exco committee members from both the Endumeni and Umzinyathi district municipalities, aiming to ensure that local businesses have a voice in the decision-making processes that affect the district.

In addition to working closely with the municipalities, the committee stressed the importance of businesses, no matter their size, joining the Endumeni Chamber of Commerce and contributing to a monthly levy. As a non-profit entity, the chamber relies on these contributions to support its operations and initiatives.

There were also discussions regarding the venue for future meetings, as the committee looks to continue building relationships with the Endumeni Residents’ Association and the Civic Association. These regular dialogues with both municipalities are seen as essential to driving improvements in service delivery, not only for the business community but also for residents across Dundee, Glencoe, and Wasbank.

With a clear focus on collaboration and community support, the newly formed committee is poised to play a crucial role in shaping a better future for the Endumeni district.
