Learners in Endumeni and Dannhauser enhance reading skills through the Courier

The Courier has embarked on a campaign to encourage reading by ensuring learners at deserving schools are exposed to newspapers,

Thanks to a generous donation of newspapers from the Northern Natal Courier, the learners at Ethangeni Combined School can now enjoy the latest news on a variety of topics, including drama, crime, sports, and local events.

This initiative allows learners to stay informed about the latest happenings in the Endumeni district, while also improving their reading skills.
Ethangeni Combined School principal Mr Botha, along with the heads of department (HODs), expressed their gratitude to Caxton Local Media for their generous contribution.

The donation, which benefits several schools in rural areas, ensures that learners have access to valuable reading material that helps them develop literacy skills and stay engaged with current affairs.
In the upcoming term, the school is set to launch a Reading Day project for junior classes, aimed at further improving students’ reading skills.

This project will encourage the children to read more frequently and foster a love for storytelling, as they learn to write and share their own stories.
Courier newspapers are also distributed to schools in Dannhauser through the Helping Hands organisation.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
