Rivers in full flood in the Dundee district following days of heavy rain
The heavy rains have put further pressure on the already fragile road network with the notorious R33 between Dundee and Vryheid scarred by numerous potholes.
After days of pouring rain that have left much of the Dundee district waterlogged, residents will be pleased to know that the weatherman has forecast some drier days ahead.

This will be good news for those attending two scheduled markets on Saturday – one at the Glencoe Spar parking area and the other, the traditional Uelzen Church bazaar on the Sunset Rest road.
Over 179mm of rain has been measured in Dundee up until 5 am this morning, April 25, according to agricultural specialist Doug Gordon.
This is well above the long-standing April record of 157mm set way back in 1903.

Rivers are in flood, with the district’s largest, the Buffalo, in full flow. The water is lapping over the De Jagers Drift Bridge on the R33 between Dundee and Vryheid.
The route is still passable, but motorists are urged to drive with extreme caution as the entire route is riddled with potholes.
