Women’s Day celebrated with community, awareness and entertainment galore in Sibongile Location

The day ended on a high note, with music, performances, and a strong message of unity and support for women and children in the community.

The National Association of Car Wash Operators (NACWO) and Jamah Carwash hosted a vibrant National Women’s Day celebration on Saturday at Amajuba Mhlungu Park in Sibongile Location.

The event, held in fine weather conditions, drew community members, businesses, and government departments, with plenty of entertainment on offer for children throughout the day.

Several businesses also showcased their products, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Guest speakers highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment and protection.
Thulile Zwane from the Department of Social Development encouraged women and children to support one another through available departmental projects aimed at developing life skills and opportunities.

Mark Griffiths from Dundee SAPS delivered a presentation on gender-based violence, stressing the importance of reporting cases so they can be fully investigated and justice pursued for the victims.
