Police arrest man with illegal firearm
The gun will be subjected to ballistic testing to determine if it has been used in any crimes in the country
Visible Policing officers made an arrest while conducting routine patrols in the Ladysmith CBD recently.
They noticed a man who fitted the description of a person they had been informed about and immediately searched him.
The suspect was found to be in possession of an unlicensed pistol, as well as four rounds of ammunition.
He was immediately arrested and appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday (April 2), facing a charge of being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The recovered firearm will be sent for ballistic testing.
