Shoot-out as police corner fleeing armed robbers

One person was shot dead in a shoot-out between police and suspects along the R103 today (May 22).
It is alleged that the suspects had robbed a shop in Queen Street and that a meter taxi was used as their getaway vehicle.
Aside from one fatality, four suspects were arrested after the shoot-out. According to an eyewitness, one of the suspects jumped out of the vehicle and began shooting at the police officers, who returned fire.
