‘Acid attempted murder’ duo apply for bail
The mother who allegedly tried to kill her son now faces a second charge

Nontobeko Portia Ngema (Sindi) and Msizi Mbhele appeared in court today (November 21) to apply for bail.
In what has become known as the ‘acid attempted murder’ case, the duo stand accused of trying to kill Ngema’s 26-year-old son with drain cleaning acid.
The case was postponed to next Thursday (November 28).
Ngema also appeared on an additional charge of theft. This too was postponed to the same date as the attempted murder charge.

With regards to the second charge of theft, it is alleged that before the attempted murder, Ngema (Sindi) stole wheels from a vehicle belonging to her son.
