Life imprisonment for man convicted of killing his girlfriend

Kubheka was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.

Khulekani Blessing Kubheka (33) has been sentenced to life behind bars for murdering his girlfriend, Thokozile Princess Nkosi (30), in Bergville.

The couple, who were in a six-year relationship, had a verbal altercation on November 17 last year, which escalated into physical violence. Kubheka slapped, hit and kicked Nkosi, resulting in multiple injuries and ultimately death.

He pleaded guilty under Section 112 and was sentenced to life imprisonment. The court also declared him unfit to possess a firearm due to previous convictions for assault and culpable homicide.
