Mother arrested after baby strangled to death in Osizweni

Police have arrested a mother in Osizweni after she allegedly strangled her baby during a domestic argument. Read more here:

A woman has been arrested and charged with murder after allegedly strangling her one-year-old baby to death on Sunday, October 12, in Osizweni.

SAPS confirms

Amajuba District SAPS spokesperson, Constable Nonjabulo Langa, said the murder reportedly followed a heated argument between the child’s parents.

“Police received a call for help shortly before 20:00 and responded immediately. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of the infant,” said Constable Langa.

The woman was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.

Police investigations are continuing to determine the exact circumstances that led to the tragic death of the child.

The woman will remain behind bars.
