Killer still at large after Winterton woman is found murdered

A police manhunt is ongoing.

The man who is believed to have killed a woman in Winterton remains at large, as police continue an intensive search to locate and arrest him.

According to authorities, the woman was found dead on Wednesday, February 11. A foreign national has been identified as the main suspect in the case.

Police continue manhunt

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan confirmed that no arrest has been made at this stage. He said detectives are working around the clock in an effort to trace and apprehend the man.

“We are following up on all leads to ensure that the suspect is brought to justice,” Khan said.

Community protests, R600 closed

The murder has sparked outrage within the Winterton community, with residents staging a protest on Thursday and closing off the R600 road. Residents are demanding justice for the deceased and calling for swift action from law enforcement authorities.
