Blocked gravity mainline causes widespread water interruptions
Water supply is expected to be restored by tomorrow
Dozens of households, businesses and institutions, including schools have been experiencing water interruptions.
According to uThukela District Municipality, this is due to a blockage in a main line.
“The gravity mains from Bushman’s River to Archie Rodell Water Treatment Plant are blocked. Therefore water supply to Estcourt town, Forderville, Colita and Esigodlweni is affected,” said communications manager Jabulani Mkhonza.
He added that a service provider is on site working to unblock the lines.
“Water supply is expected to be restored by tomorrow (May 4). Apologies for the inconvenience caused,” concluded Mkhonza.
