No water, no answers from uThukela

Despite repeated queries from the Estcourt News to the district municipality, there has been complete silence

For more than a week, residents in and around Estcourt have been experiencing widespread water interruptions.

Questions and frustrations have fallen on deaf ears.

uThukela District Municipality’s Communication Department remains uncommunicative about the cause of the water stoppage or even give an indication as to when water supply will return.

Despite repeated queries from the Estcourt News to the district municipality, there has been complete silence.

There has also been no sign of municipal water tankers to alleviate the dry spell and residents have had to rely on non-governmental organisations to provide water.

However, residents have come up with a plan of action to compel uThukela District Municipality to listen to their pleas, read more about it on this Thursday’s front page.
