Water leak chaos in Bengal Road
Motorists are advised to avoid the area or proceed with the utmost caution
Motorists and residents are fuming about a water leak in Bengal Road that has caused chaos for all concerned. A hole was dug to reach the pipe, but the massive hole has been left open, surrounded by huge mounds of earth.
The hole, which was reportedly dug by uThukela to fix the leak, has been left uncovered for days now, leaving motorists to navigate their way around it. “It looks like a dug-up grave,” commented one motorist.

But it’s not just motorists who are affected – residents are also struggling to access their own properties. The muddy mess has made it difficult for some to enter their yards.
