Water-shedding necessary after mechanical failure

It will be in effect from 20:00 to 05:00

uThukela District Municipality has announced that water-shedding will be implemented from 20:00 tonight (March 10) until 05:00 tomorrow morning.

A mechanical failure occurred at the raw water pump station early this morning, affecting Alfred Duma Local Municipality. As a result, bulk water levels in Ladysmith will drop. This has prompted uThukela to implement water-shedding to manage the water supply .

Affected areas include: Golf Course, Observation Hill, Egerton, Steadville, Modelkloof, Danskraal Industrial Area, Limit Hill, Mkhamba Gardens, Van Riebeeck Park, Roosboom, St Chad’s, and Area J.

Residents are advised to use water sparingly and store in containers if possible.
