Power outage affects residential areas and parts of CBD

At the moment it is unclear what caused the power outage.

Update: Power has been restored.

An electrical power outage is currently affecting several areas, including Acaciavale, Rose Park, Aloe Park, and the lower parts of the Central Business District (CBD) today (May 7).

Ward Councilor Abbas Warasally is on site at the Jantha Street substation, overseeing the response efforts. The municipality’s relevant staff are also present, working to resolve the issue.

According to Councilor Warasally, the cause of the outage is being investigated. The municipality is working to restore power as quickly as possible.
