As the festive season approaches, the Newcastle Municipality advises residents that no land use or development applications will be advertised for public participation during this period.

This applies in terms of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act (SPLUMA) No. 16 of 2013, along with its regulations and bylaws.

A notice from Newcastle Municipality regarding a halt in land use applications during the festive season. Key dates to remember are November 13, 2025, and January 8, 2026.

The final date for such applications to be published in newspapers is no later than November 13, 2025.

The advertisement process will resume as normal from January 8, 2026.

Members of the public requiring more information may visit the offices of the Strategic Executive Director: Development Planning and Human Settlements (Town Planning Directorate), located at the Newcastle Municipality Tower Block, 37 Murchison Street, Newcastle.

The Municipality will not be held responsible for any costs incurred.
