Huge water leak in Egerton Road

Water was gushing down the road and the robots weren't working

There was a major water leak at the corner of Residency and Egerton Road this afternoon (November 21). Water was flowing all the way down the road, into Murchison Street.

It is still not clear what caused the leak, but the source appeared to be the pavement at the robots (intersection of Residency and Egerton Road).

Traffic lights were not working all the way down the hill, with motorists having to exercise caution on the slippery roadway and at the various intersections as drivers courteously took turns to proceed on their way.

“The water was coming out of an opening on the pavement, but it seems to have stopped. Someone must have shut off the mains, but we’re not too sure,” said a bystander.

The road is still wet at the intersection above the Moth Hall this evening, but most of the water has dried up. The robots are all now working again, but some areas are suffering from incredibly low water pressure.
