Sarel Cilliers’ sports teams enjoy hard-fought battles against Vryheid

Sarel Cilliers will be hosting a talent evening on May 25 at the school hall.

Sarel Cilliers’ hockey and netball teams played St Dominic’s at home during the week. The netball first team won 33-13, while the second team won 22-5. The first team hockey girls lost 1-3, as did the first team hockey boys 0-1. The second team hockey boys were triumphant with a convincing 4-0 win.
On Saturday, the Sarel Cilliers teams travelled to Vryheid to play some exciting matches.
The netball team results were as follows: U/14-A lost 3-19, U/14-B lost 0-19, U/16 won 31-17, second team won 14-12, and first team won 39-13. The U/14 hockey team remains undefeated this season and won with a convincing score of 3-0. The U/16 hockey team won 2-0, while the first team hockey lost 0-2. The hockey boys (first team) played an excellent match, showing that they are a team to be reckoned with, winning 4-0.
The rugby junior teams played some tough matches: U/14 lost 5-24, U/15 lost 0-27, U/16 won 27-10, second team lost 5-7, and first team emerged victorious in a hard-won battle that had the spectators on their feet for most of the match with a score of 7-0.
