IFP takes Ward 11 from ANC
All political parties participated in the by-election, and praised the level of understanding and respect shown to each other
The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) is now in control of Ward 11 in Hlathikhulu, following the by-election that was held yesterday (December 13).
This by-election came after the resignation of now former ANC Cllr Nosipho Hlongwane in October.
Competition in this ward was between the ANC, IFP and EFF, with the IFP winning almost every voting district (VD), namely Ensonge, Emankonjane, Baecon Hill, Thibani, Kwashali,Zamukwazi, Hlathikhulu High, and Stockton
The overall Ward 11 results are as follows:
IFP – 1008;
ANC – 641;
EFF – 41.

IFP and ANC voters seemed very confident during the casting of votes.
Police officers were seen patrolling all VDs, making sure that peaceful voting prevailed on the day.
