Man kidnapped and held for ransom money

It was later discovered that the kidnappers held the man for a ransom of R1 million

Two men were robbed and kidnapped at their home in Afrikaner Street on Thursday evening just before 18:00.
According to a source, five unknown men entered the house, demanded money and also seized three cell phones.
They forced the two men into a vehicle and during the struggle, one of the men managed to escape. The kidnappers fled with the other man.
It was later discovered that the kidnappers held the man for a ransom of R1 million which they demanded from the family.
The man’s family paid over R70 000 into a bank account and the kidnappers released the man at about 03:00 on Monday morning. Details surrounding the case are very unclear and police are investigating.
