uThukela Mayor Inkosi NB Shabalala has welcomed the deployment of the new uThukela District SAPS general commissioner, Major General Gonya.

Gonya was officially introduced to the mayor today (September 12) at the uThukela offices.

Introducing him was the deputy provincial commissioner, Major General Makhoba.

Shabalala made a commitment that they will support the new commissioner, as they did his predecessor, Major General Khumalo.
