DJ Mpiloz won a prestigious music award in the USA on Saturday (October 5). Mpiloz, who is originally from Estcourt but currently based in the USA, was nominated for the ‘Best International Act’ category at the Abroad Achievement Awards, held in New Jersey. This is the first time these awards were held.

“I was privileged to be one of the nominees,” said DJ Mpiloz with a smile.

He thanks the people of SA and especially those in his hometown of Estcourt for their votes.

“I received 200 votes and the second position only got 60 votes. So, to everyone who took the time and money to vote for me, special thanks to you,” he said.

Mpiloz believes this award will help him in many aspects of his career. “I think it will get me attention from South Africa and people will start following my journey.”
