Celebrating culture: Formosa Melody Music Centre’s journey and impact

Taiwanese culture was celebrated when Formosa Melody Music Centre (FMMC) put on a riveting show celebrating at the Black Rock Casino on Friday night (October 18).

To explore Taiwan’s unique lifestyle and culture, FMMC presented a special programme, using a cross-sensory concept, titled ‘Splendid Taiwan.’

By intertwining classical music with traditional Taiwanese folk songs, FMMC sought to bridge cultural divides, especially with African audiences, and foster global connections through the universal language of art.

The programme highlighted  various aspects of Taiwanese culture, including the Hakka charm celebrated in “In Love with Tung Blossoms,” the simple life in Beautiful Lanyang, the story of the Lang God in “Blessed,” and the legendary tales of Lord Guan in “The Legend of the Orient.”

Each piece aimed to convey the faith and resilience of the Taiwanese people.

The performance culminated in “A Nationwide Celebration Together,” encapsulating Taiwan’s spirit of diligence and innovation serving as a tribute to the island’s many accomplishments.

Through this musical journey, FMMC not only showcased Taiwan’s cultural heritage but also invited everyone to join in celebrating the nation’s National Day, wishing for peace and prosperity for all.
